KHU and Asbury Forge Global Paths in Theological Training

Kenya Highlands University signed an MOU with Asbury Theological Seminary a few months ago for collaboration between the two institutions. This will provide our students and faculty access to resources and the exchange programs, which are essential for our University and Kenya Highlands Seminary.

Asbury Theological Seminary is a multi-denominational, evangelical seminary serving nearly 100 different denominations. Rooted in the Wesleyan tradition, they have a strong emphasis on the Bible, spiritual formation, and discipleship.

It is a community called to prepare theologically educated, sanctified, Spirit-filled men and women to evangelize and to spread scriptural holiness throughout the world through the love of Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit, and to the glory of God the Father. ATS is an institution globally recognized for its commitment to developing spiritually grounded leaders.

The MOU has borne fruit as we were honoured to host Prof. Ellen L. Marmon visiting us. Prof. Marmon is a Professor of Christian Discipleship. She has served at Centenary United Methodist Church in Lexington for 16 years before joining the Asbury Seminary faculty full time in 2005. She has also taught discipleship in Nairobi and Mombasa. She has also worked with local church leaders in Darwin, Australia; Papua, New Guinea; and Bihar, India, and taken multiple mission teams in Kenya.

Her passion for mentoring and empowering future leaders has seen her teach and engage in various contexts across the world, and her visit to our institution is a testament to her global vision for ministry. She was able to speak in various gatherings, including Immanuel AGC-Kericho , Our Tuesday Chapel service, and meeting various groups in the University. Our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Kiplangat, appreciated her visit and the collaboration with Asbury Theological Seminary. We are looking forward to growing together in theological training and other programs.

The university continues to collaborate with various stakeholders, experienced faculty, and strategic partnerships to ensure our graduates are well ready and equipped to transform our society and beyond.
