Kenya Highlands University’s Board of Trustees, University Council, and Management Board held a fruitful and insightful leadership retreat in Nakuru, bringing together key leaders committed to shaping the future of the institution.
The retreat provided an important platform for reflection, honest dialogue, and strategic alignment as the University positions itself for greater impact in the coming years. Throughout the sessions, the leadership teams engaged in in-depth deliberations on the strategic positioning of Kenya Highlands University, ensuring that the institution remains responsive to the evolving educational landscape locally and globally.
One of the major highlights of the retreat was the review of the University’s Strategic Plan. The teams examined the progress made so far and identified priority areas requiring renewed focus. Additionally, the retreat featured a comprehensive assessment of the University’s Master Plan to ensure that future physical and infrastructural developments remain aligned with KHU’s long-term vision.
The team also conducted a detailed review of Human Resource structures, emphasizing the need to strengthen staffing, enhance staff development, and streamline institutional efficiencies to improve overall service delivery.
The retreat reaffirmed the leadership’s shared commitment to uphold Spiritual matters, excellence, embrace innovation, and continue building a university that transforms lives and communities.
While speaking during the retreat, the Chancellor, Rev. Dr. Robert Kipkemoi Langat, expressed his appreciation for the governance structures of the University and commended the teams for their meaningful discussions and unity. He encouraged the leaders with the words of Psalm 133:1: “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.” He noted that such unity is essential as the University pursues its mission and future goals.
