The University Senate of Kenya Highlands University serves as the supreme academic authority responsible for safeguarding the quality and integrity of the University’s academic programmes. The Senate oversees academic policy, curriculum development, examinations, research standards, and admission requirements to ensure that all academic activities meet national and international standards of higher education.
Our mandate is to promote excellence in teaching, learning, research, and innovation. Through careful review and approval of academic programmes, the Senate ensures that the University offers relevant, market-responsive, and professionally aligned courses that prepare graduates for leadership, service, and lifelong learning.
The Senate works closely with the Board of Management, the Vice Chancellor, Deans, and Heads of Departments to maintain rigorous academic quality assurance systems.
