The Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme of Kenya Highlands University
seeks to equip participants with skills, techniques and understanding required for successful
managerial careers in the public and private sectors of the economy. The KHU MBA
programme strength is founded on its endeavor to produces the best graduates through
experienced lecturers with a wide variety of backgrounds, and diversity in the student body in
terms of backgrounds and nationalities. Participants are drawn from forty-seven counties
nationwide and beyond. Our proximity to nearby counties and East African countries gives us an
important competitive edge regionally. The course is distinguished by its rigor and variety,
offering one of the highest numbers of specialization options covering Human Resource
Management, Accounting, Strategic Management, Finance, Management information Systems,
Marketing and Entrepreneurship. The program provides a holistic approach tailored to the needs
of 21 st Century with the fabric of invention, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Admission Requirements for the proposed programme.
a) Kenyan students
To get admitted to KHU’s Master of Business Administration Degree Programme, a candidate
must have: Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized learning institution and in a
relevant field with at least a 2.75 GPA; OR; 2.5 GPA with at least 2 years of experience; OR;
Second-class lower division with at least 2 years of experience.
b) International Students
i. Non-Kenyan applicants must have met minimum entry requirements for master’s
programme in a recognized university or equivalent in their own country of residence.
ii. Non-Kenyan applicants must meet all admission requirements for the programme
master’s degree in the programme they are interested.
BACHELOR OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
The world of business is a very significant part of our society. Financial issues touch every aspect of our
economic, governing, educational, social and church structures. Unfortunately, today corruption and
incompetence have their greatest influence in the realm of economics and business, making an impact
on every individual, family, and institution in the country. The usual skills of business management are
alone inadequate to address this issue because the source of this problem is within the heart not the
head. Business Management, as taught from a Christian perspective, will be guided by a Christo-centric
worldview which teaches that God is the source of all material goods, that He has placed within our
fabric of being universal principles of morality, justice and responsibility to be good stewards in His
created world, and that He holds us accountable for what He has placed within our hands.
GOAL OF THE PROGRAM
This course is geared to enable the participants gain business acumen to make more informed and
substantive contributions for the business concerns and personal careers both immediately and in the
long term.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
A candidate must satisfy any of the following minimum requirements: a) Be a holder of KCSE (or
equivalent examination) certificate with an aggregate of C+ and a minimum of C in both Mathematics
and English. OR b) Be a holder of KACE Certificate with minimum of two principal passes and a subsidiary
pass, and a minimum of a credit pass in mathematics c) Be a holder of a diploma validated by the
Commission for University Education with at least a credit, or a professional certificate in a relevant
discipline from a recognized institution.
BACHELOR OF ARTS IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AND POLICY DEVELOPMENT
The Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Policy Development program is a broad-based,
interdisciplinary, social science course. Public Administration and Policy Development is designed to
prepare students for challenging careers in public and nonprofit organizations, as well as for further
study in future careers in Administration and Policy issues. Students undertaking this course will develop
proficiency in organizational management and leadership, public policy analysis, program evaluation,
policy development and implementation, budgeting, and governmental processes.
A bachelor’s degree program in public administration and Policy Development prepares students for
various careers that interact with the public in various public sector set up and in rendering community
services among others. In KHEU, the program is designed to develop the skills and knowledge needed to
gather and analyze a range of economic, demographic and social data, to formulate, administer,
implement and evaluate public policies and programs, and to participate in policy design, advocacy and
communication. The program aims at a broad understanding of the goals and problems of public policy,
the political process that leads to policy development, and the implementation and evaluation of public
policy in various public sector forums. The duration of the program is four academic years (8 semester).
GOAL OF THE PROGRAM
The goal of Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Policy Development is to train whole rounded
Public administrator and policy analyst who can deliver quality administrative service in the context of
dynamic political, socio-cultural and technological environment.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS OF THE PROGRAM
A candidate must satisfy any of the following minimum requirements
i) KCSE or equivalent certificate with a minimum of C+ and grade C+ (plus) in both
Mathematics and English or similar grades in an equivalent examination approved
by the University Senate in liaison with CUE Or.
ii) KACE or equivalent Certificate with a minimum of the principles passes and O level
Credit in Mathematics and English Language. Or
iii) Be a holder of a diploma from a recognized University or KNEC with a credit pass
and a C in English.
BACHELOR OF PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT-BPSCM
This programme will offer skills necessary to build successful careers in procurement industry by
providing a conceptual foundation in Supply Chain management, logistics and procurement. Upon
graduation, students will understand how the increasing strategic nature of purchasing influences other
major functional areas in an organization.
Further, the course will develop their knowledge of best practices in this field, and enhance the
understanding of the importance of this business process and activity integration.
Programme Goals
· To equip the learner with appropriate business skills in Purchasing and Supplies
Management.
· To enhance learners confidence and ability to critically evaluate supply chain requirements.
· To enable learners to develop solutions from moral, professional and academic perspectives.
· Learn purchasing functions, supply chain management and their role within and across
organisations business and management.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Entry Requirements
An aggregate grade of C+ (C plus) in K.C.S.E
Minimum of grade C- in Mathematics and English or Kiswahili.
Or
Two principal passes in ‘A’ level / Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE).
Or
Be a holder of a Diploma in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
The PLP in Drafting Legislation, Regulation, and Policy has been offered by the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies with considerable success since 2004.
