On 21st May 2025, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Joseph Kiplangat, in the Company of the University Chaplain and Director of Collaboration, Rev David Maritim, paid a courtesy call to the Kericho County Governor, Dr. Mutai Erick Kipkoech. The two institutions have had a long-standing good relationship, and the meeting was to discuss how best to strengthen the existing collaborations and partnerships. It was also an avenue to establish new ways of collaboration as the Vice Chancellor was able to meet with various CECs in Charge of different Departments on how the university can partner together.
On his part, the Vice Chancellor expressed his gratitude to the Governor for the continued support from the County Government, highlighting the long-standing positive partnership between the two institutions, with the most recent on the training of nursing professionals at the University by NEPAD.
The Governor promised to support the university in various areas, and he was happy specifically with the introduction of new courses of Health Sciences and other courses since it will increase the student population at the university, which in turn will boost economic activities in the County. He further promised to partner in areas of training of County Staff on short courses, Research and Innovation.He will also address the street lights in the University and the access road from the tarmac road to gate B of the University.
The VC is committed to explore more opportunities to partner with various institutions for the benefit of the University.
