A Sacred Closing Service Led by Theology Students

Our Thursday service marked a special and sacred moment in our calendar—the culmination of our chapel services for the semester. It was a time of thanksgiving, reflection, and spiritual recommitment. We were especially honoured to have our theology students take the lead, ministering to us with depth, sincerity, and clarity. We thank God for what he is doing through Kenya Highlands Seminary and the leadership of our Sponsor church Africa Gospel Church, Kenya – AGC led by Robert Kipkemoi Langat for a great vision to begin the seminary.

Our student pastor, Hillary Chepkwony, who serves with Deliverance Church International, brought the Word of God from Luke 22:19, where Jesus breaks bread and urges His disciples to “do this in remembrance of Me.” From this passage, Pastor Hillary unpacked three powerful points that resonated deeply with the congregation:

1. Remember

To remember is to be grateful of what God has done. Pastor Hillary reminded us that remembering God’s goodness is not just about looking back, but also about acknowledging His faithfulness in the present. He encouraged us to live lives of thanksliving—allowing our gratitude to shape how we live daily.

2. Reflect

Reflection is an act of grace. It helps us appreciate what God has done and recognize His hand in our journeys. Through reflection, we gain clarity and strength to keep moving forward.

3. Recommit

The final call was to recommit ourselves to God. Recommitment revives our spiritual devotion, draws us closer to God, and aligns our hearts with His will. It is in recommitting that we find renewed passion and purpose.

The service concluded with the sharing of Holy Communion, a sacred moment that brought us together in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice. It was a fitting end to a semester filled with spiritual growth, fellowship, and learning.

As we step into a new season, may we carry with us the spirit of gratitude, the discipline of reflection, and a heart fully recommitted to God’s purpose.
