KHU Celebrates AGC Headquarters Opening in Nairobi

AGC Headquarters opening celebration in Nairobi

It was a day marked by celebration, reflection, and renewed vision as the Africa Gospel Church, Kenya (AGC), the sponsor of Kenya Highlands University, officially opened and dedicated its new headquarters in Nairobi. The event brought together a diverse gathering of church leaders, government officials led by His Excellency the President, and members of the academic community, all united in witnessing this historic milestone.

For Kenya Highlands University, the occasion held deep significance. The institution was strongly represented by Council Chair Dr. Irene Asienga, alongside the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Kiplangat, Deputy Vice Chancellor Rev. Dr. Paul Lokol, and members of staff who attended the ceremony. Their presence reflected the strong bond between the church and the university, as well as their shared commitment to education, leadership, and service.

At the heart of the ceremony was a powerful moment of dedication and a spirit-filled sermon delivered by Bishop Rev. Dr. Robert Kipkemoi Langat, the AGC Bishop and Chancellor of Kenya Highlands University. Drawing inspiration from Isaiah 54:1–3, he preached a message titled “Enlarge the Place of Your Tent.” His message served as both a challenge and encouragement to the church and its partners, calling them to embrace growth, expand their influence, and boldly step into the future God has prepared.

The sermon emphasized faith, expansion, and preparation for greater impact. Bishop Langat reminded the congregation that growth requires vision, courage, and unity of purpose. The message resonated deeply with attendees, reinforcing the importance of spiritual and institutional expansion in fulfilling God’s mission.

The presence of the Chief Guest, His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, added national significance to the event. His attendance highlighted the important role that faith-based institutions continue to play in shaping society, promoting education, and contributing to national development. He commended the church for its commitment to leadership development and its investment in education through Kenya Highlands University.

Beyond the ceremony, the opening of the AGC headquarters symbolizes a new chapter in the church’s journey. It represents not only physical infrastructure growth but also a broader mission expansion in service, outreach, and impact. The headquarters stands as a symbol of vision, unity, and long-term commitment to community transformation.

For Kenya Highlands University, this milestone reaffirms a strong and enduring partnership with the Africa Gospel Church. This relationship is rooted in shared values of faith, education, excellence, and service to humanity. The collaboration continues to shape leaders who are equipped academically, spiritually, and morally to serve society.

This historic occasion is a reminder of what can be achieved when institutions walk together with a common purpose. Through unity and shared vision, they are able to uplift communities, empower lives, and bring lasting transformation.

As Kenya Highlands University looks ahead, it remains committed to its mission of providing quality education grounded in Christian values.
