Kenya Highlands University (KHU) continues to strengthen meaningful partnerships with schools and communities as part of its commitment to advancing education, mentorship, innovation, and holistic development.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Kiplangat, accompanied by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance, Planning & Research), Dr. John Gathii, and Registrar Academics, Dr. John Kitur, paid a courtesy visit to Kipsigis Girls High School, where they were warmly received by the Chief Principal, Ms. Margaret Kirui.
The visit provided an opportunity for the two institutions to explore areas of mutual collaboration and build on the strong relationship that has existed between KHU and Kipsigis Girls High School over the years.
During the visit, Prof. Kiplangat highlighted several areas where the University and the school can work together to benefit students and the wider community. These include career guidance, mentorship, counselling, and spiritual support.
He emphasized the importance of guiding students not only academically but also in their personal, future profession, and spiritual development.
Prof. Kiplangat also appreciated Kipsigis Girls High School for its continued collaboration and support to the University, noting that strong partnerships with schools are essential in creating opportunities for students and strengthening the education ecosystem.
A key highlight of the discussion was the upcoming environmental assessment for the KHU ICT Centre of Excellence, scheduled for Wednesday next week.
Prof. Kiplangat welcomed the school to be part of the process and shared the University’s vision for the Centre as an important investment in technology, digital skills, innovation, and community development.
The Principal expressed appreciation for the University’s initiative to establish the ICT Centre of Excellence with partners, noting that the project would be of great benefit to students and the surrounding community.
Ms. Margaret Kirui appreciated the KHU leadership for the courtesy visit and expressed her optimism about strengthening the partnership between the two institutions.
The visit reaffirmed KHU’s commitment to developing strategic partnerships that create opportunities for learners, promote innovation, and contribute to the holistic development of the community.
As KHU continues to expand its engagement with schools and other stakeholders, partnerships such as this remain an important part of the University’s vision of integrating life, faith, and learning.
