In a significant stride toward enhancing community development, the Director of Kenya Highlands University, Kipkelion, Mrs Jane Langat together with Rev. Dr. Willy Koskei, Dean of Kenya Highlands Seminary, held a strategic meeting with the leadership of the Africa Gospel Church (AGC) Kipkelion Area, under the able leadership of Rev. Wesley Rop.
The primary goal of the meeting was to engage with Certificate and Diploma in theology students preparing to join Kenya Highlands University. This partnership marks a vital step in strengthening collaboration between the church and the university—an alliance pivotal in nurturing both spiritual growth and socio-economic progress in the community.
During the discussions, church leaders actively encouraged students to serve as ambassadors for Kenya Highlands University and urged prospective learners to consider enrolling in the wide range of certificate and diploma courses offered in Kipkelion. Particular emphasis was placed on theology programs, which are structured to provide students with deep theological understanding alongside practical ministry skills. These programs are designed to empower individuals to serve effectively in church leadership and community outreach.
Beyond student recruitment, the meeting also explored broader avenues for collaboration. Church leaders proposed the development of joint programs that address pressing community needs. These include:
Leadership Development,Youth Mentorship,Music Training,Family Therapy
and Holistic Community Services
This partnership highlights the crucial role faith-based institutions and academic bodies play in shaping vibrant, forward-looking communities. As Kenya Highlands University, through Kenya Highlands Seminary, continues to expand its theological and community engagement programs, this collaboration with the church promises to leave a lasting impact nurturing not only well-educated leaders but also compassionate servants dedicated to the greater good of society.
