KHU Showcases Digital Transformation During CUE Visit

We hosted officials from the Corporate Affairs Department of the Commission for University Education who paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Kiplangat.

The visit provided an opportunity for constructive engagement on the future of higher education and the growing role of technology in transforming teaching, learning, research, and university operations. During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor welcomed the team and highlighted the University’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement in delivering quality education.

Following the courtesy call, the CUE team held a meeting with the University’s ICT Department. The discussions focused on how the University is leveraging digital technologies to enhance the learning experience and improve operational efficiency.

A key area of interest for the Commission was the University’s current status and preparedness for emerging technologies and its strategy for embracing innovations that are reshaping the higher education landscape. The team sought to understand the institution’s status on ICT and readiness in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital learning platforms, smart technologies, cybersecurity, and the development of future-ready skills among students and staff.

The Dean School of Computing and Information Science, Dr. Nicholas Kiget and ICT Director Mr. Joseph Koech showcased various initiatives undertaken by the University to strengthen its digital infrastructure and promote technology-enhanced learning. It explored opportunities for continuous improvement and collaboration in ensuring that higher education institutions remain responsive to the rapidly evolving technological environment.

The visit reaffirmed the importance of innovation and digital transformation in higher education. It also underscored Kenya Highlands University’s commitment to preparing graduates for a dynamic global workforce by embracing emerging technologies and fostering a culture of creativity, adaptability, and lifelong learning.
