Earlier today, Our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Kiplangat, officially received the printed copies of the University’s Strategic Plan from the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Finance, Planning and Research, Dr. John Gathii, marking an important milestone in the University’s strategic planning journey.
Receiving the copies, Prof. Kiplangat expressed his sincere appreciation to the team that worked tirelessly to develop the Strategic Plan. He commended their dedication and commitment throughout the process, noting that the document reflects the University’s shared vision and collective aspirations for the future.
The Vice Chancellor also conveyed his gratitude to the strategy Advisor, Dr. Eng. John Mosonik, for his invaluable guidance, technical expertise, and unwavering support throughout the strategic planning process. He acknowledged Dr. Mosonik’s instrumental role in steering the development of the Strategic Plan and ensuring that the final document aligns with the University’s vision, mission, and long-term strategic aspirations.
Prof. Kiplangat emphasized that the Strategic Plan will serve as a key reference point for the University’s annual work plans, strategic decision-making, and implementation of institutional priorities. Anchored on ten strategic pillars, the Plan provides a comprehensive roadmap for sustainable growth, institutional transformation and visibility, academic excellence, innovation, and enhanced service delivery. He noted that its successful implementation will strengthen the University’s position as a leading institution of higher learning committed to producing graduates who positively impact society.
The presentation of the copies brought together members of the University management and staff, who witnessed the official handover of the printed copies and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the implementation of the University’s strategic priorities. Among those in attendance were Mr. Ezekiel Mutai, Registrar, Administration and Human Resource; Mr. Geoffrey Yegon, Finance Officer; Ms. Veronica Manyenze; and Mr. Gilbert Bett, Procurement Officer. Their presence underscored the collective responsibility of the University community in translating the Strategic Plan into meaningful actions and measurable outcomes.
The official launch of the Kenya Highlands University Strategic Plan will take place later this year, providing an opportunity to formally unveil the document to the University’s stakeholders and reaffirm the institution’s commitment to excellence in teaching, research, innovation, community engagement, and sustainable institutional development.
As Kenya Highlands University embarks on the implementation of this Strategic Plan, the institution remains steadfast in its mission of integrating faith, life, and learning while advancing quality education, impactful research, and transformative community engagement for national and global development.
