Today was a memorable and impactful day as our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Kiplangat, together with members of the university management team, hosted Safaricom PLC, Church leaders, and National Government officials during a successful tree-planting exercise held at Kipkelion Farm.
The event brought together students, staff, members of the local community, and government leaders in a united effort to promote environmental conservation and sustainability. The National Government delegation, led by the Deputy County Commissioner alongside area chiefs, highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in protecting and preserving our environment.
The exercise provided participants with a meaningful opportunity to contribute to an initiative that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come. By planting trees, participants played a vital role in restoring the environment and advancing the vision of a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future.
The event also demonstrated the strength of partnership and community engagement. We sincerely appreciate Safaricom PLC for the generous donation of trees and for supporting this important cause. The collaboration between the university, Safaricom PLC, local leaders, and the surrounding community reflected what can be achieved when institutions and stakeholders work together toward a shared vision.
As a university committed to integrating faith, life, and learning, we remain dedicated to responsible stewardship of God’s creation and the promotion of sustainable development within our communities. Initiatives such as this continue to strengthen that commitment while inspiring positive action among students and the wider society.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this meaningful event. Together, we are not only planting trees, but also nurturing hope for a better and more sustainable tomorrow.
