Dr. Stanley Koskei organized a three-day training session on Competency-Based Education (CBE) for our fourth-year students.
The initiative reflects the university’s commitment to prepare future educators who are well-equipped to meet the evolving demands of modern education.
The session brought together students for an engaging and insightful learning experience focused on the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
A key highlight of the training was the facilitation by Dr. John Kitur, from Africa International University who guided students through an in-depth exploration of CBC. His sessions emphasized both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of competency-based approaches, helping students understand how to effectively implement CBC in real classroom settings.
During the closing session, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Kiplangat, commended the organizers and facilitator for delivering a timely and impactful program. He noted that the training aligns with the university’s ongoing efforts to integrate CBC into its academic programs. He further assured students that additional CBC-related modules will be incorporated into their courses.
Looking ahead, the University plans to conduct more training sessions before the students graduate. Notably, a follow-up session will be held immediately after examinations, where students will engage more deeply with CBC modules to further enhance their preparedness as future educators.
This initiative marks a significant step in equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to thrive in today’s dynamic education landscape.
