Kenya Highlands University continues to demonstrate its commitment to holistic Christian education through intentional efforts to integrate faith, life, and learning within the academic environment. Under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Kiplangat, the university remains focused on ensuring that education goes beyond the classroom to shape the spiritual and moral character of both staff and students.
Today, the university faculty had the privilege of participating in a retreat and training session facilitated by Prof. Kevin Mannoia.
Prof. Mannoia guided the faculty through meaningful discussions on how faith can be intentionally integrated into teaching, research, and student engagement across various academic disciplines.
The retreat session, held at Rays Hotel, created an important platform for reflection and dialogue among faculty members. During the session, our faculty members explored practical ways of connecting biblical principles with academic content while encouraging students to see their professions as a calling to serve God and society.
Faculty members further engaged in conversations on how they can intentionally incorporate Christian worldview perspectives in their teaching, ensuring that knowledge is not only transferred but also transformed through faith-based reflection. Such discussions emphasized that education in a Christian university must nurture both intellectual growth and spiritual maturity.
The event was organized by the Dean of Kenya Highlands Seminary,Rev. Dr. Willy Koskei, whose leadership helped bring together faculty members for this important time of learning and collaboration. The training also aimed at equipping faculty to extend the conversation within their respective departments so that more members of the academic community can participate in integrating faith with learning.
This initiative reflects Kenya Highlands University’s broader mission of preparing graduates who are academically competent, spiritually grounded and ethically responsible. By intentionally integrating faith, life, and learning, the university continues to nurture a generation of leaders who will impact society with wisdom, integrity, and a Christ-centered worldview.
